VR facilitates experiential learning by allowing users to see and feel from the perspective of another person. These new experiences around gender, race, and other factors result in an emotional connection and a more meaningful understanding of bias. It expands thinking and creates positive shifts that will enable organizations to more fully engage all of their talent and better serve their communities.
Benefits of Virtual reality:
- Even though you know VR is a simulation, neuroscience has proven that your brain processes the experience as if it is real
- VR has scientifically proven emotional and neurological impact—unlike that of other "training" modalities
- Immersive experiences change both the users' frame of reference and, in some cases, their behavior
- Unique personal learning can be obtained from comparing conscious responses to unbiased data from within the experience and biometric feedback
Reality, Virtually 2017 Hackathon
We successfully fielded the only female team among over 500 participants from around the world at MIT's Reality, Virtually Hackathon. Our "In Your Skin" project demonstrated the core concept of what is now our experiential learning offering.
